Nice article. I think that it is like painting and decorating a house. You need colors that compliment each others, decorations that match with the theme and that fit together, in the end create a place that you can live at and be at ease and happy.

Regards, Pam

Great post! My husband and I each had dogs adopted from shelters when we were kids. Both dogs lived 17 years! Shelter dogs are often quite healthy and just need a loving home. I have a website about pet adoption in the hopes that it will help more animals in shelters and rescues find good homes.

Oh, one more thing, when you get a shelter pet it is usually old enough to be house trained. That's a huge benefit.

With all due respect, a few corrections/additions:

Adoption in which an adult over 18 years has access to his own birth certificate is NOT an open adoption. It is a closed adoption with open records at 18. Very few U.S. states even allow this, without a myriad of conditions that apply only to adopted citizens, keeping them a discriminated against class of people.

All other so-called open adoptions are based on unenforceable promises of ongoing contact and often do not remain open. Since they, too, begin with a falsified birth certificate and no access to one's original one - they often leave those adopted in the same situation...and their natural mothers broken-hearted and betrayed.

Closed adoption may occur for many more reasons than stated, one being the mother simply being unaware of her options, or the adoption being arranged by HER mother...

There are also in-family and step adoptions.

The major difference in domestic adoption is infant versus foster. As a result of the acceptance of single parenting, access to birth control and an increase in infertility, domestic infant adoption are are and thus very costly. A multi-BILLION dollar industry has grown as the demand creates a supply.

The privatization of adoption in turn puts all consumers of adoption services at risk. Many people get "matched" with expectant mothers ad pay expenses expecting a child in return which is illegal and leaves the doors wide open for scams.

In most states anyone can hang a shingle and arrange adoptions. there are no training, education, certification or licensing requirements. Caveat emptor.

There are half a million children in US foster care. More than 1000,000 of them COULD be adopted for little or no fee and often with subsidies.

The purpose of adoption should always be to find homes for children who need them not vice versa. Each person considering adoption must decide to be part of the solution or part of the problem.

International adoption is a nightmare of corruption and child trafficking.

Placing antique or old world themed paintings will also enhance the appeal to your kitchen. It doesn't have to be expensive, any low priced painting wil do, as long as it blends well with the ambiance. Great post. Very helpful. Thanks for posting this.

What this article is saying is very true.
Just because you are living together now does not mean that you have to stop dating. Try to maintain a date night and as the article suggests you can take turns deciding where to go when you get out of the house.
Be fun and creative and you will enjoy a perfect relationship.
