Depression & Mental Health Support

Depression is one of the least undersood conditions.  People think you can just ’snap out of it’ or ‘cheer up’.  Real depression is very different to just feeling sad, blue or a bit down.  It can make the sufferer feel unable to work, relate to others and feel that life isn’t worth living.  Depression can strike anyone at any age.  It can be due to a physiological condition or life circumstances.  One of the most important things for a depression sufferer to do is to reach out to others, especially people who have similar problems.

mhchat.org is a new resource for people who suffer from mental health problems.  Having a debilitating phobia is no different to having a heart condition, or diabetes.  It’s a legitimate medical condition and it can be helped.  You can check out www.mhchat.org’s forums and chatrooms and listen to web radio casts from support groups.  It looks like a really simple, straight forward site.  The navigation menu is easy to use and uncomplicated and there are plenty of link to resources and blogs to check out.  The appearance of the home page isn’t really inspiring - if I wasn’t there for a specific purpose it mightn’t pique my interest enough to click in and look around, but I’m glad I did because it’s a good site.  Take a look and see if you think www.mhchat.org can help you.
